Faced with unprecedented attacks against women’s bodies and health, we must fight back with facts, with humor, and perhaps most powerfully, with our stories...

The Provider Project was created by women who have worked in various areas of sexual and reproductive health care, as abortion counselors, medical assistants, desk workers, doulas, alternative health care practitioners and supportive friends. We share in common our experience on the inside of the health care industry and our commitment to radically changing the way health care is understood and delivered. This blog is a place to find news and commentary on breaking issues related to reproductive justice, including perspectives on the ways health care delivery is affected by factors such as race, ability, immigration status, sexuality, gender identity, trauma history and economic class. It is also a place to find first-hand stories from the front lines of abortion and reproductive health care. These stories are perhaps more important now than ever before. We believe that those who have worked in women’s health have unique wisdom from listening to women on the front lines every day. These are the voices that are redefining the world of women’s health, one patient at a time.

WELLNESS WITHOUT APOLOGY!

We define wellness as a multidimensional state which encompasses not only an individual's physical, emotional, and mental health but also interpersonal respect and support and community self-sufficiency and resilience.

The opinions reflected in blog entries by editors and contributors do not necessarily reflect the opinions of all members of the board, or the views of the providers whose stories are shared here.
